Introduction
The Revolution 1.5, Barresi Signature Series, is my first quad line kite. The quality of construction is very
good. My only criticism is that some fabric edges needed to he heat treated to prevent fraying. With a soldering
iron, an opti visor and careful application, I was able to fix the issue.
Dimensions, specs & cost
The width of the Revolution 1.5 is 7' 7" (91"). The Rev comes with more than one set of spars which gives it the ability to
fly in a wider range of winds. I paid $300.00 for my Revolution 1.5 from the Kite Connection. The Quad line set is sold
separately and costs $65.00.
Flight Characteristics
A quad line is very different from flying a dual line. The other dimensions of control gives it a completely different feel.
If you are used to flying dual line kites, flying a quad will be awkward at first but easy to adjust to.
Being accustomed to dual line kites, I've wound my quad lines up on two separate winders which makes it easier to keep the lines in
order. I also found flying the quad to be hard on my hand and wrist muscles which is not an issue when I fly dual line stunt
kites. I modified the quad line hand grips to better fit a natural hand hold which relieved some of the muscle stress.
One final modification was to add some base tips, spurs of a sort, so I could more easily get it up to launch mode when flying on tight cut grass
fields.
